Get Ready For a Long Story

Bully Wags idea started when my Bully type dog, Harley, had reactivity problems. She would pull on the leash out of excitement. At moments, I thought it was “cute” that she wanted to say hi to everyone, until it became a nightmare, so I started training Harley by myself, and she was improving a lot.

One day, her leash unclipped out of nowhere, I didn't understand why but for sure I didn't want that to happen again, I looked online and read that bolt snap clips (the clips you see everywhere) can loosen over time and can unclip with some movements (like shaking, etc.). I bought her a new leash with a different type of clip, and the same thing happened, so I put a carabiner in the leash clip.

Everything was fine until one day she pulled me and broke her leash carabiner. She started running away, and at that moment I thought I wouldn’t see her again. Fortunately, nothing happened that night, but that experience made me make a decision, “I will never buy dog accessories that aren’t heavy duty again”.

I started doing my research, and that’s when I discovered the frog clip that you will see in our leashes. Nowadays, after training with professionals, Harley is very good on her walks, but I still buy strong and durable accessories. After seeing that there are not many options in North America with this type of hardware, I decided to start my own company, and give more options to those dog owners who need dog gear made of premium materials that will keep their dog safe and that are also fashionable.

There is no magic tool to correct your dogs behavior alone, you have to train and work hard with your dog to address its behavioral issues. We strongly recommend looking for a professional, and as you may have heard it already, consistency is key when it comes to dog training, and Bully Wags is here to be part of your journey.
